This Refund Policy applies to purchases of online courses, digital books, and other electronic products made through www.waywardleaders.com, www.waywardleaders.learnworlds.com (the Academy), and www.waywardcarl.gumroad.com(collectively, the “Services”). It forms part of our Terms and Conditions. For refunds and cancellations related to in-person training, see the separate In-Person Training Terms and Conditions.
Because online courses, digital books, and other electronic products are delivered immediately upon purchase and cannot be returned in any meaningful way, all sales of electronic products are final once the product has been accessed, downloaded, or otherwise made available to you, except where a refund is required by applicable law or where we expressly state otherwise in writing.
By placing an order for a course, book, or other digital product, you expressly request that delivery begin immediately and you acknowledge that, upon access or download, you lose any right of withdrawal or cancellation that you might otherwise have for digital content under applicable law (including the EU Consumer Rights Directive and equivalent UK legislation).
We may, in our sole discretion or where required by applicable law, issue a refund in the following limited circumstances:
• Duplicate or accidental purchase: if you purchased the same course or product twice in error, contact us within seven (7) days of purchase and we will refund the duplicate charge.
• Material technical failure: if you are unable to access a course or product due to a sustained technical failure on our side that we cannot reasonably resolve, contact us at carl@waywardleaders.com and we will work to resolve the issue or, if we cannot, provide a refund or comparable credit.
• Material misdescription: if the course or product as delivered is materially different from its description on the Services, contact us within seven (7) days of access and we will consider a refund.
• Statutory rights: where applicable consumer-protection law (including in the EU, UK, and certain U.S. states) grants you a non-waivable refund right, we will honor that right in accordance with the applicable law.
To request a refund under one of the exceptions above, email carl@waywardleaders.com with the subject line “Refund Request” and include: (a) your name and the email address associated with your purchase; (b) the order number or date of purchase; (c) the course, book, or product concerned; and (d) a brief description of the reason for the request. We will respond within a reasonable time, typically within seven (7) business days.
Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. Refunds typically appear within five to ten (5–10) business days, depending on your payment provider. We do not provide refunds in cash, by bank transfer to alternative accounts, or as credit toward unrelated purchases unless we agree otherwise in writing.
If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer without first contacting us to seek resolution, we reserve the right to suspend your Account, revoke your access to any course or product, and pursue collection of the disputed amount and associated chargeback fees. We strongly encourage you to contact us first; most issues can be resolved quickly without involving your bank.
We may decline a refund request, suspend your Account, or refuse future purchases where we determine in good faith that you have engaged in repeated, excessive, or otherwise abusive use of refund rights, including purchasing a course, consuming most of it, and then requesting a refund.
Refunds, cancellations, and rescheduling for in-person training programs are governed exclusively by the separate In-Person Training Terms and Conditions provided at booking. Those terms include, among other things, a non-refundable deposit and specific cancellation and rescheduling windows.
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your purchase governs that purchase, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
